Your most valuable assets
are the people within your organisation. If they are not
trained properly to use the tools at their disposal then your
business will suffer. The challenge of keeping staff
adequately trained whilst expecting them to be productive at the
same time is a difficult
balancing
act. Often
medium/long term goals suffer at the expense of short term
expediency and training is put to one side. Ultimately, it's a
vicious circle with no real winners. But with over 20 years of
experience in IT training, we at 50BC believe that we can help you
to get better value for money out of your training budget and make
that balancing act much easier. |

Key Elements |
Our approach to training follows the same philosophy that we embrace
elsewhere - that is, we put you at the centre of the activity.
The ten key elements of training with 50BC are:
1. Flexibility
We can run instructor-led classes at your site for groups of up to 8
or train staff individually.
2. Informality
Our courses are professionally run and carefully structured, but we
also recognise that most students learn better in a relaxed,
informal training environment. We try to strike the right
balance.
3. Pace
In a classroom environment, students will learn at their own
pace and not at the pace of the brightest student in the group. We
can assure you of this.
4. Challenge
We don't read off a script and no two courses should ever be the
same. Our training is intended to be challenging and if
it's not then we're disappointed.
5. Exercises
The provision of structured, open-ended exercises ensure
that everybody works to the maximum of their ability/experience.
6. Jargon
We like to think that our training is a "jargon-free"
zone.
7. Caring
Students are not just numbers - we genuinely care about their
progress.
8. Self image
At the end of training we want our students to go away thinking
how well they've done rather than how knowledgeable the instructor
is. The instructor should be a catalyst for fertile exchanges
of information and not just acting as an endless source of factual
information.
9. Assessment
We have available an in-house assessment tool that can measure,
quite objectively, how much students have learned during a course -
which in itself is a measure of how effective we have been as
trainers. We are totally committed to the concept of
assessments, although the choice of whether to employ them or not is
exclusively yours.
10. Honesty
Attendance certificates are not handed out at the end of
courses and we don't ask students to fill in any "happy
sheets". We are experienced enough to know whether
we have done a good job and honest enough to tell you if we haven't. |
